Family

Dear American People

Decades ago we used to know the meaning of family. We used to cherish our family. We showed affection to them and told them every chance we could how much they meant to us. Today Americans don't appreciate the value of family. We take for granted the things they do for us on a daily basis. When affection is shown it is mild and insincere to say the least.

In my family none of the above statements are true. For my family we go above and beyond every chance we can to show how much each member means to the family unit. We take our personal lives and push them aside to ensure everyone in the family is in good standing. We put our bills, our problems, our issues aside to take care of the family. This by definition is family.

It is sad to see so many people ignore what they have. There are thousands of children that would love to have just the smallest amount of affection shown to them. Yet, we as the American people, choose not to place value on this emotion. Love and affection have always been a large part of my life. Without love or showing that affection how are we to continue on in life? In my life, it comes from the smallest to the largest things. Simply loving the smell of the air after it rains or giving someone a much needed hug showing them you are there and you do care. No matter how small or large, we as the American people need to take that step and ensure we are showing, especially to our family's, how much we need them, love them, and appreciate them.

In closing, America do us all a favor, show your family how much they mean to you no matter the day of the week, month or year. Show that each and every chance you can that they mean the world to you. You never know how long you have to spend with your loved ones, make the most of the time you have. I know that some of our families are broken. Some people have done some things that are unforgivable but at the end of the day, it is still your family.

Thank you,

J
